During the week I go to sleep late because of studying and have to wake up early to leave for my classes. So at 6:00 am after 4 hours of sleep I don't really feel very inspired to put a nice outfit together for the day. I usually end up in big comfy sweaters and leggings. Today however, I had time to sleep in a bit before leaving for the day so I was able to actually put some thought into my outfit and here is the result!
One of my favourite blog posts and vlogs is the what's in my bag one! I don't know why actually but I guess it's because I'm curious. I aslo find that girls from different parts of the world carry different items, which is pretty cool. So here are the items in my bag. I just bought this bag from Winners yesterday and I will be using it for university so it is huge! It is also darker than it is showing up in photos.
Starting at the top clockwise: Newspaper| Filofax| SIGG Water Bottle| Guess Wallet| Phone| LaSenza Make up Bag| Pencil Case| Cue Cards| Sony e-Reader| iPod Nano| Yes To Carrots Hand Cream| Binder
so nothing terribly exciting here as you can see! I got so very excited when I saw these colour cue cards. For being a stationary addict it's very strange that I've never seen these before. I use these for studying on the go! alright and there is a little none related side story! haha
Let me some of the things you carry in your purse at all times! or if you've done a post like this let me know and I would love to check it out :)
No outfit photos today, it was one of those (for real) sweat pants day, my knee was not cooperating but onto happier things! I've been putting together a folder of things that I call my wish list, so I thought I would share them here. Lets face it, we all love looking at pretty things and my birthday is in a month so I've been looking at pretty things online that I could maybe, and that's a big maybe, treat myself to something on the list.
1. This Scarf is so gorgeous and it's got a hint of neon which is just perfect for the up coming seasons!
2. That Olivia necklace is so gorgeous and she's sure to be the center of attention any where she goes ;)
3. I've been looking for a cute make up bag for a while and as soon as I saw this I wanted it, it's so pretty and sparkly with an edgy side ( yes the makeup bag has personality) haha.
4. If you follow me on twitter I know that I have been obsessed with Wildfox jumpers, they're so cute and very comfy I've heard.
5. The dainty little necklace is just that, dainty and pretty and something I could wear everyday and layer it with different necklaces.
6. Since I've started using more organic makeup it's been very hard to find a concealer that offers good coverage. I've heard very good things about products from 100% Pure so I want to give this a try but the shipping from that company scares me!
7. And last but definitely not the least, (and very clearly a luxury item), a Tom Ford lipstick. It is very expensive for just a lipstick and I probably won't be buying one any time soon, but this is a wish list and girl can dream. right?
Have a wonderful day tomorrow :)
PS. let me know if you like this post where I give a little blurb about the items or do you like it as I've done previously, when I just post the photos and link with no explanation :)
Since I have a Sony Xperia, which is an android phone, I do not have instagram! But I really enjoy seeing the instagram posts and have been wanting to do something like it for a while. This week I've actually remembered to snap photos on my phone. They're not instagram photos but same idea :)
(from left to right)
1. Sparkly bracelet from JCrew which got the attention of all the girls in my class!
2. Manicure night! ended up with For Audrey
3. New boots from Locale, seen here
4. New nail polish (Mod About You) & new ring (House of Harlow)
5. Saturday morning tea
6. my weekend, lol.
Hope you've all had a more exciting weekend than mine!
Yesterday was one of those days where I felt like wearing something very comfortable, cozy but cute at the same time. Last year one of my resolutions was to not wear sweatpants outside of the gym, and I've done really well. I only wear my TNA pants when I need to wear my knee brace because that thing is huge and I can't wear anything else with it haha! But that only happens once in a while. So I am very thankful for leggings, and jeggings and all of the varieties. I however never wear them as pants, I really dislike that look. I always wear them with longer tops and sweaters like in yesterday's outfit. Although these leggings are really thick and they're more like stretch pants than leggings.
Top: H&M| Cardigan: Tommy Hilfiger| Leggings: Zara| Boots: Locale| Circle scarf: Topshop
Watch: Guess| Bracelet: local store in New York| Ring: House of Harlow vertical evil eye ring
I ordered this ring from Dealuxe last week and I've been waiting for it to get here and it did today! I love it. I took these photos to show the details! I'm in love with this ring and it's so different form any other I own. I've been wanting one ever since I saw a video where Sandra talk about hers!
And here is a mirror shot of me just to show my usual everyday make up! I've actually been wearing eyeshadow everyday since I bought my Too Faced Romantic eyes palette. The palette has a good selection of matt and satin and glitter finish and I only wear matt and satin finish eyeshadows for school and work, so I've really been loving the palette.
This winter the weather here has been a bit confused. It gets really cold one day and warm the next and today it rained. Now if the weather is going to be cold I pick snow over rain any time. I have just never liked rain, unless I am inside all cozy and don't have to leave the house. So as much as I wanted to wear my new boots today I had to wear my rain boots and I'm glad I did because it was muddy and gross out.
I also like to add some colour to my outfits on rainy days just to make myself happy :)
Since it has been too cold for me to take outfit photos in proper day light I'm stuck taking them indoors I hope that is alright! I much prefer natural lighting but I cannot afford to get sick one more time from taking outfit photos and end up missing school lol. So on days that it's not too cold (-20) I'll take them outside!
Yesterday I went to the mall with a friend on a random shopping trip and I must say it was a very successful one. I found a pair of gorgeous boots at Locale. This is my second purchase from them and I must say I am in love with their shoes. I also found a thick pair of leggings from Zara that are super cute and comfy which I'm probably going to live in them for the rest of this winter!
When I got home I wanted to take photos of my outfit and decided to wear my new boots since it matched my outfit nicely :)
Sweater: Tommy Hilfiger| Pants: Zara| Boots: Locale| Nail polish: For Audrey by China Glaze
As you all know the 69th Golden Globes happened last night! I don't really watch these award shows to see who wins because to me these days everyone seems to be winning an Oscar or a Globe for not the right reasons but anyway that is a whole other story.
I usually watch these award shows for the "Fashion Show" that happens at the red carpet arrival haha. I love seeing all the gorgeous dresses and jewelry so I thought I would share my favourites of this year with you!
Angelina Jolie looked amazing in her simple Atelier Versace dress. The cut and colour just fit her perfectly.
Charlize Theron was just glowing in her Dior gown. Her slight tan made the colour perfect and the detailing on the dress is just so pretty.
Emma Stone looked stunning in her Lanvin dress. I just love her in general, she's got such a cool and carefree attitude. Everything about this dress, the colour, the material, the cut and that belt just look amazing on her.
Jessica Alba looked so pretty in her dress, she seemed to be glowing. Her Gucci dress has a vintage feel to it and I think that is because of the embellishments. And I don't know if this is the same with anyone else but her dress does not look like a Gucci dress at all!
Rooney Mara keeps her usual edgy and cool look in this cut out dress by Nina Ricci. Another surprise as to whom the designer is. This dress does not look like the usual Nina Ricci designs but no matter, I love it!
Sofia Vergara was simply gorgeous in her Vera Wang dress. The cut of the dress fit her body type perfectly and she kept her hair simple, which went great with the busy detailing at the bottom of her dress.
well here are my favourites! let me know some of yours!
There was a lot of excitement on the interent about the one and only Coachella music festival this week. I unfortunately will not be going, and the line up is pretty amazing this year. Oh well, one day!
Even though I won't be going I still thought I would have some fun putting together some outfit ideas. It is still a long time from now (April) but I really wanted to do this haha.
I did a bit of research into where the festival will be held so that I could pick out weather appropriate items. Turns out it will be in Indio, California which pretty much has desert like conditions, HOT!
So for me appropriate clothing for this kind of climate will be loose fitting and flowy. I also added one top with sleeves for cooler nights and also I have been in love with that top for a while now and couldn't resist :)
I know it's still winter, it has actually pretty much just begun haha but that has not stopped the fashion and beauty world from displaying all the pretty things we get to look forward to for Spring and Summer 2012.
This Spring and Summer brings with it one my favourite colour trends and it's all pastels and soft hues. This makes me very happy. I am very pale so the bright and neon colours that were "in" the past couple of seasons can sometimes look harsh on me so I'm very much looking forward to rocking the pastels ;) Although I am not saying I didn't enjoy the brights and neons!
I was reading my February Elle Canada and it inspired me to do this post to share with you all the things that I am a bit obsessed with at the moment that are within the Spring/Summer colour scheme but I couldn't help sneaking in some bright accessories! :)
I am sorry for not posting this week. I woke up on the first of January with yet another cold and I was not impressed. Anyways this meant staying home mostly, drinking tea and having a Gossip Girl marathon. I am now all caught up and I must say I reeeally enjoyed it! Other than that I'm back at university and already loaded with assignments, which I am taking a break from to do this quick post. I wanted to share with you an outfit photo from our NYE party!
Here is a photo of my make up! (at the end of the night!)
Eyes: MAC Bare Study| Clinique: Daybreak| MAC: Sable| Mascara: bareMinerals volumizing mascara
Foundation: Body Shop Extra Virgin Minerals liquid foundation
Bronzer: Vasanti Brazilian Bronzer
In my outfit photo I mentioned I am wearing a ring from nilli. I won this ring from a giveaway that Tala from My Fash Diary was having on her blog! A big thanks to her and nilli for this giveaway.
Here are some better photos of the ring, every time I wear it I get many compliments on it!
It came in this pretty package :)
In natural light
How gorgeous is this ring? It is handmade in Scandinavia, well all of their jewelry is I believe. You should definitely check out their website, they have really gorgeous, one of a kind jewelry and I'm thinking winning this giveaway will not have good results for my wallet haha.
It is the first day of the new year and I'm filled with happy and positive feelings. I had an amazing night surrounded by family and loved ones and I could not have asked for a better way to ring in the new year :)
This year was a great one. It had it's ups and downs. But all of it made me grow and learn more about myself and realize how strong I can be if I set my mind to it. I had told myself that in 2011 I would try and be more calm as I am always the worrier specially when it comes to school related situations. I am happy to say that I have definitely improved in that area, my mom even noticed and commented on it! but I still have a lot to improve on.
I have had this blog since 2009 and I used to blog on and off until 2011. I actually like to think that I didn't really start this blog until February of 2011 when I started to blog regularly. I think (correct me if I'm wrong!) that I have improved since I first started this little adventure. I actually cannot believe I have gone from 3 to 40 readers during this time and I wanted to thank you all so much for actually finding substance in what I write and taking the time to read it :) and I want to thank those who helped me along with this process or any other way in 2011 :)
I also thought I would share some of my resolutions with you here!
Be more patient- with myself and others
Achieve more in and out of school
Smile more and worry less
Become a better person as I definitely think there's always room for improvement!
