Random Fun!

Hello lovelies,

I was studying and then I put this song on to dance around as a little break and I thought I would share it with you here as well. It is a persian song but the singer Arash has been living in Sweden for a long time so he also incorporates english into his music!

Let me know what you think, as I'm always curious to know what people from other countries and cultures think when they listen to persian music!

and here's a photo of me being silly, just for kicks....haha!

Have a wonderful Tuesday :)

Halloween!

Hello lovelies,

Hope you've all had a great Halloween weekend! Mine was so fun, except for the fact that I had a cold..booo. Friday night we had a halloween party at my university and on Saturday a family friend of ours had a party at which I last until about 12 and that was when the cold meds wore off and I was ready to go home and sleep.

Friday night was actually the first time I dressed up for halloween yes I know, shock, horror, but I moved to Canada when I was 14 and by then I was too old to go trick or treating. All that aside I had a lot of fun getting dressed up this year. A friend of mine went as black swan and she asked me to go as white swan and seeing as how I am totally obsessed with Swan Lake, I said yes!

I did my friend's make up and it turned out pretty good if I may say so myself and I also did my own makeup. I went as white swan both Saturday and Friday. I originally wanted to change it to a zombie ballerina for Saturday but my cold made it a bit impossible for me to go out and buy the material that I needed so I stuck with white swan.

This is me on Friday night. I used white face paint just on the upper part of my face to get that striking look Natalie Portman has in the movie. I made my own tutu and the feathered head piece and I am really pleased with how they turned out. I think I enjoyed the festivities this year because I put effort into my costume and made them myself!

On Saturday night I didn't have white face paint but I still like how my make up turned out and I think I actually prefer it without the white. I just did a really dramatic eye make up.

I know that is terrible cropping but I wanted to give you an idea of the tutu in its full glory! I love it! I kind of want to wear it everyday now haha.
Let me know what you think of the costume!

I'd love to know what you dressed up as for Halloween :)

Macadamia Deep Repair Masque Review

Hello lovelies,

Today I have a review for you that I have wanted to do after the first use but I held myself back so I could use it a bit more before giving you an accurate review.

As you probably now know from the title I am going to review the Macadamia Deep Repair Masque and let you know what I think about this product. As you have seen in photos in previous posts, my hair is big and curly but what you cannot tell from photos is that it is very dry which makes it very frizz prone. I love my hair and that it has "character" (nice way of putting it) and that it's big but finding products to somewhat tame it has been a difficult and long process.

I was previously using a deep conditioner from L'oreal which I loved, since it made my curls defined but what I didn't like about it was that it was full of chemicals. As you may know by now I have been paraben-free for a few months now and I also generally look for products that use as little amounts of chemicals as possible.

About a month and a half ago, I went on a hunt for something more natural that wouldn't be as harmful. I had heard from many beauty vloggers, that the Macadamia range had amazing products so I went to Trade Secrets and had a look.

And I am so very glad that I did, because that is when I found the paraben-free, alcohol-free and cruelty-free Deep Repair Masque. This product smells amazing I am very bad at describing scents so I won't even try but trust me on this. Now onto what it does for my hair.

As I said I have very thick frizzy hair, so if I don't treat it with conditioner, no matter what I put in my hair it will weigh down so the top will just lie flat and the bottom will frizz (sexy no?...no).

I use this in the shower after washing my hair and I comb it through and leave it for about 7-10 minutes. I actually notice a difference right when I wash the product off, as my hair feels very soft and smooth. After towel drying my hair I style it with mousse and that is all. My hair has so much volume (but in a good way) and shine, my curls look very defined and bouncy, I love it. My friends also noticed after the first time I used it, they kept asking if I got a hair cut or if I've done something new to my hair!

On the container it says to use the product no more than twice a week but I will admit that I use this as a conditioner and I wash my hair every other day sooo you do the math hahaha. I really try to be good so once or twice I'll just use a regular conditioner but the results are not as good as the Deep Repair Masque so I can't help myself. I do try not to overuse though because the first week that I used it every time I washed my hair there was product build up by the end of the week.

I bought mine at Trade Secrets and the price was $28 for 250ml of the product which can be considered pricey but you only need a small amount every time so the product will last you a long time.

I really love this product and I would definitely recommend it for those with dry, frizzy hair. I can't really tell you how it would work for straight and thinner hair but you can always try it as they have small pouches of this masque for about $4 and it is definitely enough for using more than once.

Hope you found this review helpful and if you have any questions about this product definitely let me know!
Have a wonderful weekend!

The Body Shop: Extra Virgin Minerals Compact Foundation Review

Hello lovelies,

Today I have a product review/rave for you. So about two weeks ago I went on a search for a foundation that would be Paraben free and also one that would have the least amount of chemicals as possible.

I first went to Sephora and had a look around but didn't really know which products to look at and having to read all the product labels can be a bit overwhelming. So I asked one of the girls that worked there and she told me they only had three products that fit my description and to be honest I was not impressed with any of them.

It then occurred to me that if there was one store that would have something like that it would be The Body Shop. I do not even know how I did not think of that from the beginning.

At the store I asked a lovely girl for help and let me tell you I have never experienced customer service that amazing before, but I unfortunately cannot recall her name. So if you're reading this thank you!

I told her that I was looking for a foundation that was as close to being natural as possible and that I have combination skin that is sensitive. I also told her that I like light to medium coverage. The product that she thought would be best for my skin was the Extra Virgin Minerals Compact Foundation.

This is the product description from The Body Shop website:

"This cream-to-powder mineral foundation contains pure minerals and cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil for a smooth, matte finish. It has an ultra-blendable formula and contains a custom brush for flawless application."

And this is what it looks like:

I must say that I am in love with this product. I am very picky when it comes to foundations and so is my skin. Usually after the second application of a foundation my skin will break out if it is irritated. But I am very happy to say that I have used this everyday for two weeks and my skin has never felt better.

Usually when I take off foundation from my skin at the end of the day my skin feels dry and itchy, but after washing this foundation off of my face, my skin feels so very soft. I believe that is due to the extra virgin olive oil that is in this product, so it is like putting on olive oil on your skin in the morning for the rest of the day.

Now on their website it is said to be a medium to full coverage. I cannot be sure about it being a full coverage since I am lucky enough to not need full coverage so I have actually never tried building it up to that, but since it is a creamy foundation I can see that being possible.

The girl in the store used a sponge to apply this foundation but I actually prefer the brush that comes with the foundation. The brush is stored in a compartment right under the foundation. I swipe it in the product and apply it to my face in circular motions. I find that when applied with a sponge the product just sits on the skin and does not blend well and also the product is wasted.

This foundation is really the softest and creamiest product I have ever felt and once applied to the face, it doesn't even feel like I have any foundation on. I use the shade 102 natural ivory, which is a perfect match for my skin. Here is a swatch of it and you can just see that it is very creamy.

This is the product just applied to my face in the morning:

And here it is at the end of the night:

I purchased this product for 25.00 CAD and the amount of product in the compact is 8.5 g. You can have a look at it HERE, they are having a sale right now! All in all I really love this product and would definitely recommend it.

Hope you enjoyed this post and that it was helpful. If you have any questions regarding this product you can either leave me a comment or email me your questions :)
Have a wonderful day!
